iCloud 2FA Sync
Apple Secure, Private Tabs Easy
If you use iCloud Mail, you can send your 2FA codes right to your
Private Tabs profile toolbar. It’s fast, simple, and safe. Stay logged
in and in control without switching tabs.
How to set it up?
1. Log in to iCloud Mail:
- Go to https://www.icloud.com/mail and sign in with your Apple ID.
2. Access iCloud Mail Settings:
- Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the lower-left corner.
- Select “Preferences” from the menu.
3. Set Up Email Forwarding:
- Under the General tab, scroll to the “Forwarding” section.
- Check the box “Forward my email to”
- Paste your Private Tabs Dropbox email address
(To get this: click the green PrivateTabs extension on the right side of the PrivateTabs search bar. Copy the email under “2FA Email Syncing.”) - (Optional) Check “Delete messages after forwarding” if you don’t want to keep a copy.
- Click “Done” to save.
4. Create Email Filters for 2FA (aka Rules in iCloud)
- Go back to Preferences > Rules tab
- Click “Add a Rule…”
Example 1: Forwarding Ticketmaster 2FA Emails
- If a message: “is from” or “has subject” → enter Authentication
- Then: choose “Forward to”
- Paste the Private Tabs Dropbox email
- Click “Done”
Example 2: Forwarding AXS 2FA Emails
- If a message: “has subject” → enter Verification
- Then: “Forward to” your Dropbox email address
- Click “Done”
Additional Notes:
- You can set up multiple rules for different platforms or keywords.
- Rules are processed top-to-bottom, so make sure more specific filters are placed at the top.
