We get it, things can get a bit confusing, chances are you might have heard the terms Finger Prints, Proxy Servers, IP Address, Subnets and more.  We’ll break it down for you so you can understand what this all means!

  • FINGERPRINT
    This is like the “computer” you’re using. Imagine you have a big desk with 10 different computers on it. That means you have 10 unique fingerprints. These are the identities advertisers track.

  • IP ADDRESS (OR PROXY SERVERS)
    This is like the internet plug your computer connects to. If you get your internet from AT&T and you have one plug, that’s one IP address. Ideally, you want one fingerprint (computer) tied to one IP address (proxy server).

  • PROXY SERVER
    If you need more than one IP address at home, you use a proxy server. That is just a fancy way of saying you can have many IPs or internet plugs available. For example, if you pay for both AT&T and T-Mobile internet, you have two plugs, each with its own IP address. A proxy server lets you have hundreds or even thousands of unique IPs connected to your computers (fingerprints).

  • SUBNET
     When you buy IP addresses, they come in groups of 255. This group is called a subnet. So a subnet is just a block of 255 unique IP addresses.

  • VIRGIN IPS
     These are IP addresses that have never been used before. Some customers like to start fresh with IPs that are completely clean. We sell these in subnets of 255, so you get a whole block of fresh, unused IPs.

Think of it like this: at home, you usually have one computer connected to one internet line. That means one unique “fingerprint” (your computer) linked to one network IP.


If you have more people in the house, there are probably more computers, so more fingerprints. But everyone is still sharing the same internet connection. This can cause problems because many websites limit purchases per household by checking the IP address. So even with multiple computers, the site sees you as one household and restricts how much you can buy.


Private Tabs solves this by letting you create as many unique account identities as you want, each connected to its own IP address. For example, if you have 20 accounts, you can assign 20 different IPs. This way, you avoid purchase limits that happen when multiple accounts share the same network.



PRIVATE TABS WILL ALWAYS ALLOW YOU TO HAVE UNLIMITED ACCOUNTS EACH WITH THEIR OWN FINGER PRINT BUT YOU’LL WANT TO ADD AT LEAST ONE IP ADDRESS TO EVERY ACCOUNT!


With Private Tabs, you can create as many unique accounts (fingerprints) as you want, but you need to pair each one with its own IP address or proxy. If you don’t, you risk getting blocked. The golden rule is one IP per fingerprint every time. That’s how you stay safe and keep things running smoothly!
